What is the best PETG filament? 10 different PETG brands tested
Is there a bigger difference between PETG brands? Which one is the best? 10 different PETG filaments are tested in this video, to see is there any bigger difference in mechanical properties.
Tested PETG filaments: Prusament, Polymaker PolyLite, BambuLab PETG basic, Creality, Sunlu, eSun, Overture, Eryone, AmazonBasics, Hatchbox.
Everything is printed on Prusa MK4 at 245°C.
The test includes: tensile testing, layer adhesion, bending, creep, temperature resistance and impact strength.
Similar testing with 16 PLA filament brands: ua-cam.com/video/spCtiX4b3ds/v-deo.html

But why only "C"? Is it really improved? Kingroon KLP1 230 Klipper based fast coreXY 3D printer test
Переглядів 3,1 тис.13 годин тому
Kingroon's new 3D printer is KLP1 230, which is fast Klipper CoreXY 3D printer, very similar to previous model KLP1 (210). The original KLP1 was the first CoreXY printer by Kingroon and I had that feeling, that it is not finished. This is the reason, why I was curious about the latest version, I wanted to see if all those issues are fixed by now. Product page (affiliate): kingroon.com/products/...
Even stronger Heat-Set Brass inserting method for 3D prints? Let's test it!
Переглядів 29 тис.День тому
Everson from @GeekDetour channel presented several methods, how can we insert brass threaded heat-set inserts to be flush with the surface. One of the methods is final pressing in with the bolt. In this video I am testing how strong are these different methods. The pull out load and the maximal torque is tested too. Bambu Lab A1, great bed slinger, but is it better than P1P? (for PLA)
Переглядів 9 тис.14 днів тому
Bambu Lab A1 is the best bed slinger I tested so far. But the big question is, if it should replace my P1P, which is my #1 printer for PLA material. It has many advantages compared to P1P: it is quieter, nice touch screen, can accept cardboard spool. Print quality and speed is similar, only the acceleration is slower. Can we dry the nylon at 70°C? Surprising results!
Переглядів 8 тис.21 день тому
Every filament absorbs moisture from the air, and this may have a negative effect on the quality. The most sensitive to this humidity is the Nylon (Poly amide). Most of the filament dryers on the market can heat the air up to 70°C. Let's find out if this temperature is enough for drying the nylon. Hi, thanks for this. What would you recommend as a resin type among all these for a phone holder that would stay in a car parked in plain sunlight all year round including of course hot summers? Obviously the temperature would never reach the same as in your oven, but I think it could get as high as 70°C (about 160F). Would PA-like fit the bill?

Since you didn’t dry these, one has to wonder if one spool was more “wet” than another from the factory, how much did that affect the results.

My favorite PETG is still PLA+ 😅 It permanently creeps under (too much) load and withstands a little less heat, but is easier to print and often has better layer adhesion. If ABS wasn't such PITA with open printer, it might be my favorite PETG 😉

Best PETG is natural color petg, regardless of brand, without any additives (slightly milky, hard to buy), the more additives it has the worse it becomes. Completely clear PETG is NOT natural color, but it is closest to the natural from easy-to-buy ones.

Very useful info. Thank you for this. I printed some parts in Creality ABS recently (for heat resist), but found layer adhesion abmismally poor. I reprinted the same parts in Polylite PETG just to check I wasn't going nuts, and those parts turned out much stronger in layer adhesion. Your tests shows me that maybe Creality adds something to their filaments to make it easier to print, but really affects layer adhesion. Anyway, it also shows me I should've bought Hatchbox or Eryone! haha. Anyway, I would be quite interested in the same test in ABS, since I would be then able to completely validate my own findings between Creality ABS and Polylite PETG for layer adhesion.

    • @MyTechFun
      @MyTechFun День тому

Max temp of an old filament dryer (eSun lite). 55-60 approx. This is enough for PETG, only probably 4-5 hours is the ideal (depend of the storage).

Just a reminder: from the video I earn approx 10-20$. So I try to work with what I have. Even here I bought 3 filaments from US, where shipping to EU cost me more than the filaments. If my videos would have popularity like CNC kitchen, I would do those kind of things too.
